After leaving Gidea Park, I went onto Forest Girls’ School, then studied Medicine at St. Bart’s & Royal London, completed pre-clinical medicine and then switched to Mathematics and Management at King’s College London. After King’s I went onto a career in finance and spent the next 10 years at Goldman Sachs, in London. I then transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, got married and moved to NYC. My husband (Rushin) and I have two young children; I took almost four years off work to raise them. I faced a number of challenges when thinking of returning to the workforce, so started Uma, a company designed to empower women and help them return to work after a career break.
