Information For Parents
Discipline
Discipline is based on respect
for adults and each other, fairness and a feeling of family
stability and order. We therefore expect parents to support us in
achieving and maintaining acceptable standards of conduct and
dress.
Homework, a form of
self-discipline, is regularly required in the Junior School and is
expected to be handed in fully completed and on time.
Parent's
Evenings
Parent's evenings are
generally held termly for individual discussion with staff regarding
progress. The door of the Headmistress' office is always open to
parents and private consultations can be readily
arranged.
School
Hours
School begins at 9:00am and
finishes at 3:30pm. The school is open before and after normal
starting and finishing times under an informal caring
arrangement.
Uniform
Uniform is largely available
from the School shop on the premises. The emphasis is on sensible
business-like conformity appropriate to the occasion for all
children except those in the Pre-School Unit.

For reasons of safety,
ear-rings are forbidden (except plain gold studs), as is jewellery.
School bags, sports bags and slipper bags are available from the
uniform room.
Lunch
Lunch is cooked daily on the
premises. Sandwiches or
packed lunches are not permitted. We offer a varied and flexible
menu and cater for vegetarians and those children whose religious
and cultural backgrounds require a different diet.
Admission
Admission after the ages of
three and four is by formal or informal testing, dependent on the
child's age and interview. Admission is preferred in September, but
pupils can be enrolled, by agreement, at any
time. |
